SANTA CLARA, Calif. With digital TV's U.S. launch date a week away, broadcasters are busy publicizing what will be the first publicly broadcast DTV programs.
ABC will raise the curtain on Nov. 1 when it airs The Wonderful World of Disney and 101 Dalmatians in the 720 progressive format.
And on Nov. 10 and 11, PBS, in collaboration with Intel, will air an "enhanced DTV" broadcast of a documentary on Frank Lloyd Wright in a 480i format. As the documentary airs, companion data will be transmitted simultaneously at 1 Mbit/second as part of the DTV signal to Intel architecture-based PCs capable of receiving DTV signals.
